THE GATHERING PLACE
As a project of the George Kaiser Family Foundation, Gathering Place in Tulsa is more than a park; it is a community destination designed to celebrate life and promote inclusivity through world-class architecture and landscape design. EPS contributed to nearly every corner of the mile-long park with our work covering more than 70,000 square feet (SF) of stone paving, 5 miles of stone curbing and stairs, and 35,000 SF of natural stone retaining walls.
The Lodge & Boathouse
The Lodge features nearly 10,000 SF of custom stone flooring spanning two levels. Each piece was fabricated, dry-laid off-site, and reassembled on-site, which allowed us to see and adjust the layout before installation. At the Boathouse, EPS installed 6,500 SF of stone flooring atop a 40-foot-high cantilevered patio, using vacuum systems to place stones weighing over 250 lbs each.
Four Seasons Garden
The Four Seasons Garden is the spectacular main entrance to the Gathering Place Park. With more than 15,000 individual pieces, the outdoor promenade is a design and engineering marvel. The largest pieces, nearly 5 tons in weight, cantilever twenty feet above the ground to encompass the pathways as guests walk below. The entire venue comprises 15 walls and 24 columns, each set using innovative vacuum clamps and all-terrain cranes.
